Evangelist Janice Ward- Founder and Executive Director of A Better Way Ministry Inc. Janice serves as a general board member, her passion and drive started this organization Janice is a former business owner and Entrepreneur. She brings vision and enthusiasm as well over 5 years experience within the domestic violence field. She served as a member of the AZCADV-Arizona Coalition of Domestic Violence WOCN  and has worked with the ICADV- Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Janice serves as an Spiritual Care Associate/Chaplin for the Methodist Hospitals. Evangelist Ward understands the need for the faith based organization’s education and information to help in the fight against family violence. Evangelist Ward is a member of Pilgrim MB Church under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Charles L. Emery.

Mrs. Jennifer McGhee-  President/Director. As a board member she brings a Bachelor Degree in Marketing Jennifer also has very a strong marketing background She is Married to Pastor Andre' McGhee Pastor of Greater St John M.B Church as a Pastor's wife she is valued member in helping us to reach the our goal. Ms. Chianna Williams is a Board member. Ms. Williams serves as our Youth Director She is a key member in  our organization she is completely passionate about the education and eradication of family violence and sexual abuse. Prophetess Shireen Anderson-Vice President. as a member of the board of directors Prophetess brings a wealth of information to our table. Her qualifications include a 25+ year career in social services recently retiring from The Department of Children and Families Services of the State of Indiana. Prophetess Anderson serves under the Apostle John Eckhardt  Crusaders Ministry.

Rev. Bruce McKenzie- M.E.N"s Director. He is a recently retired Gary Community School Board Member and Associate Minister of the Trinity MB Church. Rev.McKenzie
Currently serves as an Spiritual Care Associate/Chaplin for the Methodist Hospitals. Rev. Bruce McKenzie also serves as our Board treasurer. He is keenly committed to the fight against family violence and domestic violence issues and in helping us to accomplish our mission of protecting our local communities.

Mrs. Bonnie Harris is the organization’s Recording Secretary/Volunteer Director.  Mrs. Harris also works as our event coordinator. Mrs. Harris's dedication to this ministry in untiring and she handles bookings as well as our outreach efforts. Mrs. Harris is a member of Pilgrim MB Church.

Ms. Myra Spearman also a former batter victim serves as a board member. Ms. Spearman is the Founder and Executive Director of The Weaker Vessel Inc. Ms. Spearman has a keen awareness of the devastating results of family violence. Find out more about her on our Prevention Page.

Our Approach

A Better Way Ministry Inc. is grounded in the belief that Domestic violence thrives through the screaming silence that is echoing across this world today. We firmly believe that it will take a social shift within local communities by recognizing the devastating impact domestic violence plays in our society today.

 We help clergy and congregations and the overall faith based communities by hosting workshops and services on the dynamics of domestic/family violence and the proper way to respond to those who are currently experiencing family violence.  We breakdown the dynamics of domestic/family violence and the danger to those who are currently experiencing family violence.

We realize that there is a gulf created by church and state regulations and stipulations which has hindered in the information process for the faith based community. It is our earnest desire to bridge the gap through our aggressive awareness campaigns and facilitating workshops to help end the silence and stop domestic/family violence.

Family Violence is an insidious and pervasive problem that plagues our communities today; what is worst, is the cloak of cover the batterer feels he/she has because of the silence even within the church...

 The Sad Fact

Many believers feel isolated and ashamed about their abuse and they truly feel that no one in the church cares...

My friend this is more than enough to grieve the Holy Spirit.

The apparent lack of concern some feel in their places of Worship goes against the very nature of GOD.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Gal 6:2   Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 

We are charged by GOD to care.  Aren't we suppose to show due benevolence especially to those that are of the household of faith?

-Gal 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Gal 6:10   As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
